Mr. Schlappi has proven that just because you can't stand up doesn't mean you can't stand out. He is the only wheelchair basketball player in the United States to compete in the past four Olympic games in Seoul, Barcelona, Atlanta, and Sydney. Recently a national award winning video was produced about Mike's life. He was honored by the state of Utah as one of its Top 50 athletes of the past century.

As the President of Mike Schlappi Communications and a member of the National Speakers Association, his presentations have inspired thousands of audiences to adapt and overcome. He is an author who has written and published two books about success and motivation. Mike has a great sense of humor. He'll be the first to tell you he's flat broke and could borrow a few bucks until he gets back on his feet.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and NO! he did not accept any bribes. Mitt Romney the President and CEO of the 2002 Olympic Games states, "Mike's accomplishments remind each of us of the power of the human spirit to rise above all adversity. Mike truly walks his talk as he verbally and visually inspires everyone to light the fire within." He and his wife Tami reside in Draper, Utah and are the proud parents of five children.
