We’re proud to share that The Daily Reflector recently featured ECVC’s 2025 Employee Success Story of the Year, William Hippard, celebrating his dedication, hard work, and professional growth through ECVC’s Employment Services program.
In the article, reporter Kim Grizzard describes William as “the total package — dedicated, hardworking and always on time.” His strong commitment to his role at Package Craft earned him ECVC’s top annual recognition, presented during our 60th Anniversary Banquet held October 2 at Rock Springs Center.
The banquet, which coincided with National Disability Employment Awareness Month, featured keynote speaker Lou Ferrigno, best known for portraying The Incredible Hulk. Each year, ECVC honors one individual whose success in community employment exemplifies the organization’s mission of helping people with disabilities achieve independence through meaningful work.
William’s journey has been one of persistence and growth. With support from Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD), WorkSource East, and ECVC’s job placement team, he earned an Environmental Services certification and found the perfect fit at Package Craft. There, he’s known for his positivity and dedication — even joking that he could “marry the company.”
“Will has that drive to just want to do,” said ECVC Employment Specialist Lisa Taylor. “His commitment is what stands out to me.”
William’s success story represents just one of many across eastern North Carolina. Each year, ECVC helps more than 165 individuals with disabilities receive vocational training and connects dozens with local employers who value ability, reliability, and inclusion.
