GREENVILLE, N.C. – Building on the success of its Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program launched in partnership with Pitt County Schools, Eastern Carolina Vocational Center, Inc. (ECVC) has expanded services into Beaufort County during the 2025–2026 school year.
The expansion brings Pre-ETS services to students across Beaufort County Schools, including Washington High School, Northside High School, and Southside High School.
Pre-ETS supports students ages 14–21 with disabilities or 504 plans by helping them explore careers, build workplace readiness skills, develop self-advocacy, and plan for life after high school. Services are delivered by ECVC Pre-ETS Specialists who work closely with school staff to ensure programming aligns with each student’s goals and transition plans.
“ECVC is really excited about expanding our Pre-Employment Transitions Services throughout Eastern North Carolina,” said Darone Dancy, Vice President of Workforce Operations at ECVC. “We want to continue to grow ECVC’s mission by ensuring all populations of persons with disabilities are being served to their fullest capacity, and this now includes students in Beaufort County schools.”
The Pre-ETS program is offered in partnership with the Division of Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD) and local school systems, reflecting ECVC’s long-standing mission to support individuals with disabilities through employment focused services and workforce development.
ECVC plans to continue strengthening school partnerships and expanding Pre-ETS services across eastern North Carolina, helping students prepare for postsecondary education, training, or employment.
