2024 Foundation Meritorious Service Award

We are proud to celebrate Ashka Lewis, Programs Manager for Facility Services at ECVC, as the recipient of the 2024 Meritorious Service Award. Ashka plays a vital role in overseeing our Adult Development and Vocational Program (ADVP), which provides essential services for individuals facing significant challenges in four or more major life areas due to intellectual disabilities, severe physical limitations, or traumatic brain injuries.

Ashka’s commitment to excellence is evident in everything she does. One nominator beautifully described her as “an example of patience, kindness, accountability, and integrity,” emphasizing her professionalism and exemplary character.

At ECVC’s year-end Christmas Luncheon, Ashka was recognized with the Meritorious Service Award in honor of her outstanding dedication and the positive impact she has on our team and the individuals we serve. Congratulations, Ashka, on this well-deserved achievement!

Meritorious Service Award

The ECVC Foundation, formed in 1986, gives Meritorious Service Awards to “. . . award and benefit the employees and managers of the Eastern Carolina Vocational Center who have performed their duties and responsibilities in an “exemplary or outstanding” fashion, all on behalf of the institution.” The ECVC Foundation Board of Trustees presents the awards and monetary amounts at their discretion to ECVC employees who have exemplified ECVC’s core values: Mission, Integrity, Individual Accountability, Teamwork, and Customer Focus. Supervisors and co-workers make the nominations for the award.
