2022 ECVC Foundation Meritorious Service Award

Novella Johnson, 2022 Meritorious Service Award Winner, has been with ECVC for three years, is very dependable, and is known as a “go-getter.” She will work anywhere or do anything she needs to do to get the job done. Her primary job is painting frames. If you ever want to see paint-a-slinging, stop by and watch how fast she paints them! She will do whatever it takes to keep the production line running smoothly, including v-nailing or cutting sticks on the saw when she is needed.
Novella never questions direction and takes great pride in her work, ensuring customers receive the best quality product. She shares her skill by training new employees in best practices and procedures. Novella completed the Production Progression Plan this year; she is flexible to work in different areas of the company and brings tremendous value to the framing department.
Novella Johnson strives in her everyday tasks to follow ECVC core values, sets an excellent example for any ECVC employee, and is very deserving of the 2022 Meritorious Service Award.
Meritorious Service Award
The ECVC Foundation, formed in 1986, gives Meritorious Service Awards to “. . . award and benefit the employees and managers of the Eastern Carolina Vocational Center who have performed their duties and responsibilities in an “exemplary or outstanding” fashion, all on behalf of the institution.” The ECVC Foundation Board of Trustees presents the awards and monetary amounts at their discretion to ECVC employees who have exemplified ECVC’s core values: Mission, Integrity, Individual Accountability, Teamwork, and Customer Focus. Supervisors and co-workers make the nominations for the award.
